Duck....Duck....TAPE!

For sooooo long, I was OBSESSED with duct tape creations! I made several for friends and haven't done one in a loooong time. It's sticky (obviously), a LOT of measuring and remeasuring, and definitely time consuming (especially Hello Kitty) because I had to watch so many you tube videos LOL. Overall I'm pleased with the ones I've made :) I cannot tell you how people do prom dresses out of duct tape for contests, I feel like it would take months! It's fun, and I tried it  so I'm good with that. My friend has had hers a few years, the flower did fall off, but it's still completely in tact, which surprises me. Women put their wallets through a lot LOL.  The best part about this was learning to make flowers and bows. So cute and fun, some girls in the videos were making them as hair accessories! How creative! I made each one with pockets for cards, full sleeves for money, and even a clear window for the License. So they are FULLY functional wallets and when you get a chance please you tube some other peoples duct tape creations, they get pretty wild :)

Mmm mmm More Yummy Art

More edible art cupcakes :) These were just one of the many done for a tea party themed bridal shower. My mom is really the mastermind behind a lot of the baking I do. I started helping her and I've learned to do it on my own now. So this is one of her creations, I just helped to pretty it up with the tye dye effect :) The chocolate butterflies were surprisingly easy and one of my favorites to do. Although, time consuming these were a crowd pleaser. Wish I had a better picture, thanks for stopping by :)

Bridesmaids Charicatures on Wine Glasses

I thought I shared this already (excuse the background, I apparently didn't take any other pictures), guess not. These were done for my best friend's wedding (I believe I posted the giant wine glass I did for the bride already), one for each girl that stood up, and each with their name painted on the base of the stem. These were my very FIRST go at painting wine glasses and took 3 hours each! It's very time consuming, especially when the paint is thin and 3-4 coats need to be done. These are now 3 years old and mine has not chipped AT ALL. Not bad for my first attempt :) Of course I don't use it, I display it. However, each glass I do is dishwasher safe, but I recommend  hand washing still because it will most definitely last longer.

Chirp! Chirp! ....another hand painted Wine Glass.

Sold this set shortly after completing them :) This set was so much fun to do and one of my favorite pieces painted so far. Each glass has a different bird with little details (Don't ask me what kind of bird, I only know the Robin. I just googled images and try to paint the one I thought were pretty). Snow covered branches are always so serene to me, adding a bird was just a nice personal touch. I would love to do a set like this again. Stemless glasses are just as elegant as stemmed glasses :)

Fury Models

It's been a while since I've posted. I'm currently crafting x-mas gifts and working on projects in between. This happens to be an in between project I got from pinterest. Although, I don't condone dressing up pets, I do like accents. I feel it's more acceptable than an entire ensamble. Some people take dressing up their dogs a bit too far. Dont even get me started on the dog strollers/carriers, sheesh! Anyway, I've sewn a couple dog scarves in the past and I really like them. They make great gifts for dog lovers and it's really fun to have them double sided with different print so it can be switched up :) This time I decided a bow tie was more dabinar than a scarf for my old man puppy. Plus Bear has received some flak from the men in the past for wearing a scarf so I switched it up (people are so mean lol) For my first one, it came out perfect and it can be flipped for a different pattern! I'm very happy with it, plus it's thanksgiving themed. How fun! I made Charlotte's scarf to match (the other side is paw prints). It's not girly, but I've got some girly stuff in the works for her collar She actually likes wearing a scarf believe it or not, she gets excited. It's weird. However, bear takes more convincing, but hes used to it :) He's a really great sport, lets me put anything on him and just takes it like a champ. I can see lots of festive accents for my pups in the future :) Hope you've enjoyed this little project of mine. As always more to come and thanks for stopping by!

T-shirt Fun!

So this unique project I ended up finding on Pinterest (of course) and I just had to try it because I thought it was pretty amazing. It's a rug made from old T-shirts. How crazy right? Although I cannot take credit for coming up with this, I commend the unique person who did (tipping my hat to you mystery person). It is time consuming, but easy peasy for sure. You will love it if you like to sew (I only like easy sewing lol). All you do is cut some old t-shirts into one continuous strip (directions on pinterest) then braid 3 colors together, and lastly sew them in the shape you want (I chose oval). It really is so simple!! The braiding is the worst part only because the strips are so long they get tangled super easy...I started this out with certain colors in mind and decided to add whatever color I could find because I ran out of shirts really fast. So it's not the prettiest, but it's a fuctionable conversation piece for sure! I loved this project so much I decided to go big LOL soooo I'm still not finished. It's a little bigger than the pictures show now, but I def. have a ways to go. The other cool thing is you can even do this with old jeans and kids clothes for the parents who just can't let go (you know who you are haha). However, jeans is a different process. I love easy creative projects like this and am always looking for more. So if you have any, let me know. As always thanks for stopping by and spending time on my page :)
